কার্বেন্ডাজিম হলো বহুল ব্যবহৃত বেনজিমিডাজল গ্রুপের একটি ছত্রাকনাশক। এটি বহুমুখী, প্রবাহমান ছত্রাকনাশক হিসেবে কাজ করে। যার ফলে গাছের পাতায় ও গোড়ায় প্রয়োগ করলে সমস্ত গাছে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে।এটি গাছের যে কোন অংশে পড়া মাত্র গাছের অভ্যন্তরে তা শুষে নেয় এবং গাছের রসের মাধ্যমে সমস্ত অংশে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। গোড়ায় প্রয়োগ করলে শিকড়ের মাধ্যমে সমস্ত গাছে ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। তাই যেসকল ছত্রাক গাছ বা পাতার ভিতরে আক্রমণ করে থাকে, তাদের দমনে এটি বেশ কার্যকর। ছত্রাক দমনের পাশাপাশি এটি নেমাটোড প্রতিরোধেও কাজ করে।
